From For more challenging applications, ClorDiSys also provides chlorine dioxide gas decontamination services to treat the hard-to-reach surfaces such as ductwork, HEPA filters and housings, incubators, and more.

Hospital acquired infections (HAIs) and contamination control in the healthcare industry is a constant and prevalent problem. ClorDiSys has a full product line of UV-C products to meet all of your disinfection needs to reduce HAI’s and improve patient care. Our suite of products is gentle on materials, easy to use, and works quickly to disinfect viruses, bacteria, fungi and spores from objects and environments. The portable Torchand Torch+ as well as the fixed in place Flashbar can be used to disinfect Operating Rooms and Patient Rooms. The Flashbox and Flashbox-mini are perfect for nurses stations to disinfect shared items and visitors belongings including: cell phones, tablet computers, keyboards, pens, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, etc.

Our chlorine dioxide gas is registered with US Environmental Protection Agency as a sterilant and is able to inactivate all forms of antimicrobial life, including spores. UV-C light provides a dry, chemical-free, and residue-free method of disinfection effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores. Common Industry Applications

Operating rooms can be disinfected between surgeries, or at the end of the day depending on the schedule and needs of the facility. Surgical centers are extremely vulnerable places for transmission of infection. Healthcare-associated infections are that of which patients can acquire while receiving medical treatment in a healthcare facility. These result in serious disease to a patient who is already in a compromised condition, yet often they are preventable.

Spores like C. diff, MRSA, Multi Drug Resistant Organisms, and more can all be eliminated utilizing ultraviolet light disinfection. Room disinfection systems like the Torch can be placed inside the surgical suite and after a few minutes, any exposed harmful organisms will be killed. Tabletop chambers like the Flashbox can disinfect accessories and components that are often shared and are some of the most contaminated things we encounter. Built in UV-C light fixtures can also be implemented to have easy ability to turn on the lights without needing to add extra equipment into the room on a daily basis.

For circumstances when there are extreme contamination issues and an entire facility needs complete sterilization, we also offer chlorine dioxide gas. Our services, or utilizing our Minidox, can completely decontaminate every inch of any size space at a 6-log degree kill. This can be done in mere hours and leaves no residues.

Patient rooms can be disinfected with UV light or decontaminated with chlorine dioxide gas between patients, after a high-risk patient occupancy, or periodically depending on the facility's needs. Hospital settings do not prevent an ideal situation for proper cleaning, time in between when patients are not present in the room is short, and the time allowed does not permit every surface and obtain a sufficient kill. Ultraviolet light disinfection is an ideal solution due to its ease, speed, and effectiveness. Ultraviolet light by its nature is chemical free and environmentally friendly. In minutes, an entire room can be disinfected to a 99% kill on all surfaces exposed to the UV-C lights. In instances when a compete sterilization is necessary; chlorine dioxide is optimal because it will ensure every surface and component will have a complete kill with no residues left behind.

Ambulances and other EMS vehicles can be disinfected with UV light or decontaminated with CD Gas or liquids in order to reduce the risk of infection from one patient-to-patient, as well as patient-to-EMT. The lantern can easily be placed on the floor to get the underside of the stretcher as well as lower placed items, and also be inverted and hung from rails to shine easily from above onto surfaces. These treatments are rapid and eliminate harmful organisms that the light shines upon in mere minutes. Chlorine dioxide gas treatments are only a few hours and eliminate every organism contaminating the vehicle without leaving residues behind. Another fast, but not as complete of a decontamination method is fogging an ambulance which can be done in a short period of time but does not penetrate surfaces as deeply as gasses would. Liquid chlorine dioxide can be used for microbial elimination down drains and can also be used to wipe down surfaces.

Nursing Stations can utilize UV-C light disinfection chambers such as the Flashbox and Flashbox mini to treat commonly used and shared items such as stethoscopes, remote controls, keyboards, clipboards, tablets, cell phones, etc. These items are frequently used and shared, but not typically disinfected. Cell phones especially are amongst the most contaminated things we are in contact with and bringing that into a healthcare facility can be very detrimental. These devices only require one minute to eliminate harmful organisms, making them convenient for visitors, staff, and patients to all use throughout the day.

We also offer UV passthrough chambers and UV passthrough tunnels to disinfect small electronics, tools, and other items entering a clean or immunocompromised area.

For situations when the whole room does not need to be decontaminated, we offer a number of options for surface treatments. Liquid chlorine dioxide can be used to fog, spray, or wipe surfaces down in order to disinfect or sterilize that location. Ultraviolet light can be used to disinfect the visible surfaces within a room, whether they are benchtops and casework, or the common touch points on equipment.

Traditional sanitation procedures typically do not include Air Handling Units or their accompanying ductwork. When decontaminating with CD gas, it is often times very easy to include the ductwork and air handling system (even HEPA housings) in the scope of the project. CD gas penetrates through HEPA filters as if they are not there, and being a dry gas it is able to navigate the bends and turns of the ductwork system without condensing and getting "stuck."

Chlorine dioxide gas has been shown to inactivate beta lactams, which you can read about here. Since the initial laboratory testing, chlorine dioxide gas has been used at multiple leading pharmaceutical companies worldwide to inactivate beta lactams within their facility. Chlorine dioxide gas treatment allows for areas and equipment previously used for beta lactam production to be used for non-beta lactam activities, saving lots of money compared to building new facilities.
